Q.: The Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) is conducting an investigation on suspicion that overseas investor manipulated the market for long-term government bond futures, so we’d like to hear your views as the Minister in charge of government bonds.
A.: I’m aware of the reports. However, the Ministry of Finance will not comment on responses by the SESC to individual matters. I think that’s all I can say, but whatever happens, it’s clear that all markets need to be properly monitored.
