October 23, 2014:

Results of public comments on revisions to the "Cabinet Office Ordinance on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs" «Summary» The FSA published the results of public comments on revisions to the "Cabinet Office Ordinance on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs," based on the Revision of Japan Revitalization Strategy announced by the government in June 2014. The revisions aim to require companies to disclose the number of executives by gender and the ratio of female executives in their disclosure documents including annual securities reports.

October 17, 2014:

Results of public comments on amendments to the Order and Ordinance for enforcement of the "Banking Act" «Summary» The FSA published the results of public comments on the amendments to the Order and Ordinance for enforcement of the "Banking Act." The amendments are pursuant to the revision of the "Financial Instruments and Exchange Act" in 2013, which will be enacted by December 2014. The amendments aim to accommodate to the Basel Core Principles by tightening the large exposure restrictions.

October 23, 2014:	The sixth meeting of the Study Group on Payments and Transaction Banking of the Financial System Council to be held «Summary» On November 27, 2014, the FSA will hold the sixth meeting of the Study Group on Payments and Transaction Banking of the Financial System Council.
October 23, 2014:	The fifth meeting of the Study Group on Payments and Transaction Banking of the Financial System Council to be held «Summary» On November 18, 2014, the FSA will hold the fifth meeting of the Study Group on Payments and Transaction Banking of the Financial System Council.

October 23, 2014:	Publication of statistics regarding unlawful reimbursement of deposits «Summary» The FSA published statistics on unlawful reimbursement of deposits involving counterfeit and stolen cash cards, stolen deposit books, and unlawful internet banking activities. The statistics include details of incidents and compensation made by financial institutions based on the reports from financial institutions.

October 24, 2014:	Updated list of qualified institutional investors who are operating financial instruments business without proper registration (Kanto Local Finance Bureau) «Summary» The FSA (Kanto Local Finance Bureau) issued warnings to qualified institutional investors who are operating financial instruments business without proper registration.
October 24, 2014:	Administrative action against Real Capital Management Co., Ltd. (Kanto Local Finance Bureau) «Summary» On October 24, 2014, Kanto Local Finance Bureau took administrative action against Real Capital Management Co., Ltd. The administrative action orders Real Capital Management to terminate its financial instruments business. This administrative action is based on a recommendation from the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) as a result of its on-site inspection. The SESC found that the company violated regulations including Article 52 (1)(ix), and Article 36-3 of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
October 22, 2014:	Updated list of entities who are operating financial instruments business without proper registration (Kanto Local Finance Bureau) «Summary» The FSA (Kanto Local Finance Bureau) issued warnings to entities that are operating financial instruments business without proper registration.
October 20, 2014:	Administrative penalty charge against an individual for market manipulation regarding the stocks of Hokushin Co. Ltd. «Summary» On October 17, 2014, the FSA issued an order to impose an administrative penalty charge against an individual for market manipulation regarding the stocks of Hokushin Co. Ltd.

October 24, 2014:	Updated list of issuers of gift certificates in repayment procedures based on the "Payment Services Act" «Summary» The FSA updated the list of issuers who are repaying, have completed repaying or have announced the termination of use of prepaid payment instruments, as defined in the "Payment Services Act" (e.g. gift vouchers, gift certificates, and prepaid cards)."
October 23, 2014:	Publication of handouts for the regional seminars updating the policies and the measures of the FSA «Summary» The FSA published the handouts of the regional seminars updating the policies and the measures of the FSA. These seminars were held in all prefectures throughout Japan from mid-September until mid-October by the FSA and local finance bureaus. In the sessions, the senior officials of the FSA introduced the recent developments on the policies and the measures of the FSA to the regional financial institutions and local business companies.
October 23, 2014:	The fifth meeting of the Council of Experts Concerning the Corporate Governance Code to be held «Summary» On October 31, 2014, the FSA and Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. will hold the fifth meeting of the Council of Experts Concerning the Corporate Governance Code.
October 20, 2014:	Publication of the agenda and handouts of the fourth meeting of the Council of Experts Concerning the Corporate Governance Code «Summary» The FSA and Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. published the agenda and handouts of the fourth meeting of the Council of Experts Concerning the Corporate Governance Code, which was held on October 20, 2014.
October 20, 2014:	Special regulatory measures on the System of Special Arrangements for Corporate Field Tests pursuant to the "Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act" «Summary» The FSA published the details of the special regulatory measures to be provided pursuant to the "Payment Services Act". These measures were requested by the Commercial and Industrial associations based on the System of Special Arrangements for Corporate Field Tests pursuant to the "Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act."
October 20, 2014:	“Symposium to improve financial literacy (knowledge and judgment skills)” to be held in Sapporo «Summary» On November 26, 2014, the FSA and Hokkaido Local Finance Bureau will jointly hold the "Symposium to improve financial literacy (knowledge and judgment skills)" in Sapporo, Hokkaido. The symposium is aimed to encourage each person to enhance financial knowledge and judgment skills to improve household management and life-planning, and to lead an economically independent and better life.
