January 25, 2016: Publication of the draft “Cabinet Order on the Partial Revision of the Order for Enforcement of the Postal Service Privatization Act”open new window

The FSA and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications jointly proposed the draft “Cabinet Order on the Partial Revision of the Order for Enforcement of the Postal Service Privatization Act.” The Cabinet Order revision will be as follows:
  • The amount limit for a person to deposit to postal savings will be increased from 10 million yen to 13 million yen.
  • The deduction from the amount of insurance in the calculation of the limit for individual life insurance will be increased from 3 million yen to 10 million yen. (The limit for total amount of insurance after deduction will remain to be 10 million yen).

In accordance with the article 156-66 of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, the FSA published the over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives report as of the end of September 2015. This report aggregated the OTC derivatives transactions data reported from the Financial Instruments Business Operators in Japan.

The FSA’s Counseling Office for Financial Services Users is offering a counseling service in response to inquiries and comments from financial services users. Between October 1 and December 31, 2015, the counseling office received 8,630 inquiries and comments, close to 8,890 cases in the previous quarter (between July 1 and September 30, 2015). Among them, 253 cases were received through the ex-ante consulting services.
