March 3, 2017:

Publication of the finalized “Ordinance for Enforcement of the Act on Utilization of Dormant Deposits to promote Public Interest Activities by the Private Sector” < Summary> The FSA finalized the “Ordinance for Enforcement of the Act on Utilization of Dormant Deposits to promote Public Interest Activities by the Private Sector,” where the Act is a legislation initiated by the members of the Diet. The Ordinance for Enforcement prescribes details on dormant deposits*.  * Deposits in a bank account that have been inactive/inoperative for at least 10 years since the last recorded event are deemed as “dormant deposits.”

March 2, 2017:

Publication of the draft amendments to the FSA’s regulatory notice of the “Designated IFRSs” < Summary> The FSA proposed the draft amendments to the regulatory notice of the “Designated IFRSs” stipulated in the “Regulation for Terminology, Forms and Preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements.”

February 27, 2017:	Requests for the facilitation of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises during the fiscal-year-end season < Summary> On February 27, 2017, the FSA requested that bank associations of deposit taking financial institutions and The Norinchukin Bank facilitate financing for small and medium-sized enterprises during the fiscal-year-end season.

February 28, 2017:

Publication of “Statistics of NISA and Junior NISA Accounts” (preliminary figures) as of December 2016 < Summary> The FSA published “Statistics of NISA and Junior NISA Accounts (preliminary figures).” As of December 31, 2016, there were 10.7 million NISA accounts in total, and approximately 9.5 trillion yen (approximately 84.1 billion USD) was invested through the NISA accounts. In addition, 28.9 billion yen (approximately 256.5 million USD) was invested through 190 thousand Junior NISA accounts, which started from January 2016.

February 28, 2017:

Administrative penalty charge against an individual for market manipulation regarding stocks of IG Port,Inc. < Summary> On February 27, 2017, the FSA issued an order to impose an administrative penalty charge against an individual for market manipulation regarding stocks of IG Port,Inc.

March 3, 2017:	Publication of the draft “Taxonomy Elements List of the EDINET (Electronic Disclosure for Investors’ Network) Taxonomy” < Summary> The FSA proposed the draft “Taxonomy Elements List of the EDINET Taxonomy.” The draft proposes the list of the detailed (additional) tags for CG (corporate governance) related information and IFRS financial statements prepared by IFRS adopters in Japan. (EDINET taxonomy is the taxonomy to be used for XBRL filing with the EDINET.
February 27 & March 2, 2017:	Publication of the agenda and handouts of the first and second meetings of the “Working Group on Investment Trusts for Long-Term, Cumulative and Diversified Investments” < Summary> The FSA published the agenda and handouts of the first and second meetings of the “Working Group on Investment Trusts for Long-Term, Cumulative and Diversified Investments,” which were held on February 24 and March 2, 2017, respectively.
March 2, 2017:	Forum on promotion of funding for growing businesses in the local economy to be held on March 22, 2017, in Sapporo City < Summary> On March 22, 2017, the FSA will hold a forum on promotion of funding for growing businesses in the local economy in Sapporo City, Hokkaido Prefecture. Inviting stakeholders such as from recently listed local companies, local venture firms, the stock exchange, securities firms, local financial institutions, venture capitals and relevant administrative authorities, this forum provides an opportunity to discuss various issues regarding capital market and to share good practices of funding for growing businesses in the local economy.
February 28, 2017:	Publication of the finalized amendments to the EDINET Taxonomy - 2017 < Summary> The FSA finalized amendments to the EDINET Taxonomy - 2017. The amendments reflect the revision of the “Ordinance on Terminology, Forms and Preparation Methods of Financial Statements” and relevant accounting standards.
