(Type II financial instruments business operator), ordering the revocation of the entity’s registration and the improvement of its business operations pursuant to the “Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.” This administrative action is based on a recommendation from the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) as a result of its on-site inspection.

October 20, 2017: Second industry-wide cyber security exercise (“Delta Wall II”)open new window

For upgrading the capabilities of the financial industry to respond to cyber-attacks, the FSA conducted the second industry-wide cyber security exercise (“Delta Wall* II”) based on “The Policy Approaches to Strengthen Cyber Security in the Financial Sector” which was published in July 2015. The exercise was conducted over the period from October 23 to 26, 2017.

* Delta Wall means a key element in cyber security: the triad (Delta) of “self-help,” “mutual assistance,” and “public assistance.”

October 20, 2017: Workplace Installment Investing NISAopen new window
< Summary>
Investment through Installment Investing NISA accounts is to become available from January 2018. It is important to improve accommodative environment for households to start asset building, so that the launch of the new tax-saving scheme can be an initial foothold for those who have not engaged in regular investment. From this point of view, the FSA decided to introduce “Workplace Installment Investing NISA.” The FSA expects that this initiative will be commonly practiced not only by the FSA itself but also by the other ministries, local governments, and private enterprises.
