Notice of International Conference on Financial Stability and Financial Sector Supervision: Lessons from the Past Decade and Way Forward

The Financial Research and Training Center (FRTC) will co-host an international conference on ''Financial Stability and Financial Sector Supervision: Lessons from the Past Decade and Way Forward'' with the International Monetary Fund's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and 21 Century COE-Market Quality Project of Keio University on December 17, 2007, at Mita Kaigisho in Tokyo.

This conference will seek to review changes, and lessons learned from the changes, in the financial sectors of Asian economies following the financial crisis ten years ago. The panel sessions will also discuss how to cope with ongoing changes in the global financial landscape going forward, including the emergence of new financial technologies and the implementation of Basel II.

The summary and reference materials of the conference will be posted on the FRTC website in due course.
