Notice of International Conference on
Strengthening Payment Systems in Asia

The Financial Research and Training Center (FRTC) will co-host an international conference on ''Strengthening Payment Systems in Asia'' with the Asian Development Bank Institute(ADBI) and Keio University (Global COE Project, Keio-Kyoto;Market Quality Project) on February 10, 2009, at The Central Common Government Offices No. 7 in Tokyo.

Amid the current global financial crisis, this conference will focus on how the settlement infrastructure in Asia can adapt to the changing financial environment to achieve smooth flow of funds in Asia. Discussions will also be made regarding payment systems that comprise the settlement infrastructure, examining their current situation and future developments from various standpoints, not only their design but also innovation in payment business technologies.
