Symposium on
Financial Industry to Contribute to Revitalizing the Regional Economy
in Japan and Asia

The Financial Research Center (FSA Institute) and the Global Financial Partnership Center of the Financial Services Agency organized a symposium titled “Financial Industry to Contribute to Revitalizing the Regional Economy in Japan and Asia” jointly with the Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University, the Institute of Economic Research of Kyoto University, the Institute of Social and Economic Research of Osaka University, and the Asian Development Bank Institute on May 19, 2016.

The symposium examined initiatives taken in Japan toward vitalization of the regional economy from the aspects of banking, crowd-funding and entrepreneurial finance. The symposium also discussed regional finance in Asia, particularly from the viewpoint of financial inclusion. The symposium had over 130 participants, mainly from financial institutions and academics, and there were in-depth and lively discussions.
