Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board

Under the increasing importance of audit oversight, International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) agreed on the establishment of Permanent Secretariat at the Plenary Meeting in Washington in April 2014 in response to the expansion of its activities and enhanced collaboration with other international organizations. Subsequently, IFIAR called for nominations to invite the host candidates of the IFIAR Permanent Secretariat.

The Financial Services Agency (FSA) and the Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board (CPAAOB) decided to run for hosting the IFIAR Permanent Secretariat in Tokyo.

IFIAR plans to establish the Permanent Secretariat in 2017.

* IFIAR is an international organization established in September 2006 for the purpose of coordination and cooperation in audit oversight. It is comprised of 51 jurisdictions, and the Financial Services Agency and the Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board are the members of IFIAR from Japan.
