Y2K Status-Report during the Rollover Period

(As of 17:00, January 2, 2000)


    Financial institutions and associations, etc. put their systems to trial today and the following were reported.

1.   A foreign bank has identified disorders related to Y2K that may have a minor effect on its customers and operations (risk of losing historical information available on corporate customers' systems when customers seek to retrieve trade services transactional reports).

2.

  Fifteen securities companies identified disorders related to Y2K that may have a minor effect on its customers and operations (malfunction of trading systems). Fourteen of the securities companies have restored their disorders.

    No reports of disorders related to Y2K affecting financial institutions' customers and operations have been made to the Financial Supervisory Agency from any other financial institution and association, etc.

    It was reported that one disorder which was identified but not restored yesterday was restored today.
