Y2K Status-Report during the Rollover Period

(As of 17:00, January 4, 2000)


1.       No disorders that may significantly affect financial institutions' customers and operations have occurred.

      Today, six banks and four cooperative financial institutions have identified ten disorders related to Y2K that may or might have a minor effect on their customers and operations (wrong indication of the year and date, inability to inquiry from the terminals on customer side, and malfunction of internal automatic teller machine, etc.).  Of the ten disorders, it was reported that five had been restored.

      It was reported that six disorders were currently under restoration.  Of the six disorders, four of them were expected to be restored today, one was by tomorrow, and the rest was by the end of this week.

     Although it was reported that some financial institutions had identified disorders that may have a minor effect on its customers and operations (such as the malfunction of ATM), these disorders were not related to Y2K but to the wrong conditions caused by the damaged equipment and malfunction of the circuit.
