The GPIF and other public pension funds have announced that they will accept the Stewardship Code. As Minister of State for Financial Services, please tell us what you think about this and what kind of changes you hope to see among institutional investors?

Overseas, the number of responsible investors has been on the rise, and I think that at the very least, shareholders ought to say, if a company is just stashing retained earnings for no reason, that they should be used, for example, to increase wages, make investments, or pay dividends. I think that any increase in the number of shareholders who do more than just sit there in silence will be a good thing.
