Q.

Currently online banking is widely introduced and major banks are said to be looking into the possibility of charging account maintenance fees. How do you think about this?
-
A.
-
I haven’t heard anything about it, so I don’t know.

I’d like to ask about bank card loans. The results of a user survey released by the Japanese Bankers Association yesterday showed that 30% of users have borrowed an amount equivalent to more than one-third of their annual income, and that half of banks have offered to lend more to borrowers. I’d like to know what you, as Minister, think about this, and how the FSA is going to respond.

I haven’t got the results of the survey, so I can’t say anything about it. I don’t know the details, so I can’t comment.
