[Questions and answers:]

Q.

On the 18th, the Special Investigation Committee looking into the improper sales committed by Japan Post Insurance released their report. I’d like to ask what you think of the report, and what do you think of the fact that the responsibility of the management ranks was not covered in the scope of the Committee’s investigation.

A.

To a degree the topic here is if the management has been conducting its duties properly, but from my viewpoint, the purpose of setting up a third-party committee was to confirm various situations within the group related to Japan Post Insurance and investigate for themselves, and then based on those findings, to determine the causes and suggest reform measures. However, I do not have extensive knowledge thereof, and I am not sure if a third-party committee should comment on the responsibility of the management ranks based on such an investigation. I doubt that falls within the jurisdiction of the third-party committee.

Q.

What responsibility do you think the three presidents of Japan Post Holdings, Japan Post, and Japan Post Insurance should face?

A.

I will refrain from making a comment without factual information to base it on.
