(Excerpt)

(Tuesday, March 10, 2020, 9:43 am to 9:50 am)

[Questions and answers:]

Q.

The market is turbulent. With this kind of fluctuation in market price, what kind of stance are you taking against confusion in the market?

A.

We will announce the second emergency measures package this afternoon, which includes stronger financial support for small and medium enterprise business operators. We are looking at financing for the next two or three weeks, more at small, medium and micro enterprises rather than large companies. For financial institutions such as credit associations, credit cooperatives, and second-tier regional banks, it is important that they have an attitude of concern, going as far as to ask small and medium enterprise business operators if their financial situations are doing okay. This is because they may run out of time if financial institutions wait for them to say something about it. The FSA has already asked that to financial institutions. But in any case, we must respond appropriately when we ascertain such sudden changes in the situation.
