I would like to mention that MIYOSHI Toshiyuki, the Vice Minister for International Affairs of the FSA, was elected to the Chair of the Executive Committee, which is effectively the highest decision-making body of the IAIS (International Association of Insurance Supervisors), an international organization of insurance supervisors, and this personnel decision was published yesterday. The former Chair was Adviser ARIIZUMI (former Vice Minister for International Affairs of the FSA), and under his leadership, ICS, the first international capital standard in the insurance sector, was finalized. Furthermore, the number of natural disasters is significantly increasing, and we were able to advance discussions on how to address the insurance protection gap related to this issue. I am proud that the next Chair has also been selected from the FSA. Under the leadership of MIYOSHI, the new Chair of the Executive Committee, I expect the FSA to contribute to the advancement of international insurance supervision and regulation, thereby further enhancing the presence of Japan’s financial administration and insurance industry.
