Q.: The U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran have triggered a market reaction, including a surge in oil prices. How do you think this will affect the Japanese economy? Also, what is your current view on the need for policy responses?
A.: Regarding financial markets, I recognize that there have been large fluctuations in the current situation in the Middle East. The Government of Japan is closely monitoring market developments with an extremely high degree of tension and will take all possible measures while closely and flexibly cooperating with overseas authorities.
