Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Finance, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar
1. On January 24, 2014, the Financial Services Agency signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (PDF:606KB) on a comprehensive cooperative framework with the Ministry of Finance, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
2. This Memorandum of Understanding provides a framework of promoting a comprehensive cooperative relationship in the financial sector, based on the recognition that the development of Myanmar’s financial infrastructure including financial and capital markets will be the foundation of the prosperity of Japan and Myanmar, and by extension, the world economy.
3. Through this Memorandum of Understanding, the Authorities are able to enhance exchanging experience and expertise in order to develop financial and capital markets, as well as a legal and regulatory framework in the areas of microfinance, securities, and insurance.
