Exchange of letters on co-operation with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand
1. On February 25, 2014, the Financial Services Agency and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand exchanged letters on the sharing of their experience and expertise.
2. In view of the growing globalization of the world’s financial markets, this exchange of letters intends to strengthen cooperation between both Authorities in order to promote the development of sound financial regulatory mechanisms and financial markets.
3. Based on this exchange of letters, the Authorities intend to exchange their experience and expertise in order to develop legal and regulatory frameworks and financial markets in both countries.
4. Dr. Vorapol Socatiyanurak, SEC Secretary-General, said: “The Letters for Cooperation bring about the opportunity for the Thai capital market to connect with the Japanese capital market, one of the leading financial markets in the world.”
5. Mr. Ryotaro Hatanaka, FSA Commissioner, said: “Exchange of letters enables Japan and Thai to continue the financial cooperative relationship between both countries in the long term, and to deepen this relationship enriching the contents along with the development of each market.”
