Contribution to The Eurofi Magazine: “Structural shifts in life insurance sector: IAIS insights”

MIYOSHI Toshiyuki, Vice Minister for International Affairs of the Financial Services Agency and Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), contributed an article titled “Structural Shifts in Life Insurance Sector: IAIS Insights” to The Eurofi Magazine (published on September 15, 2026).
The article provides an overview of structural developments in the life insurance sector, including increased investment in alternative assets such as private credit and the expansion of asset-intensive reinsurance (AIR) as well as the associated risks. It also outlines the IAIS’s initiatives to address these developments.
