The FSA publishes the results of public comments regarding the revision of the Public Notice designating the business accounting standards that can be used in Japan, as stipulated in the Ordinance on Terminology, Forms and Preparation Methods of Consolidated Financial Statements. The revision adds the accounting standards published by the International Accounting Standards Board from November 1 to December 31, 2013. No changes will be made to the proposal draft as no comments were received.
April 14, 2014: Draft partial revision of “Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks, etc.”open new window

The FSA proposed the draft of revisions to the Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks. It aims to enhance the effort of global systemically important banks (G-SIBs) to fully comply with the “Principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting," and require some large banks to disclose the indicators for assessing and identifying G-SIBs.

April 18, 2014: Partial revision of the FSA regulatory notice concerning the designation of related corporations of credit rating agencies (group designation concerning explanatory items of unregistered ratings)open new window

The FSA updated the list of designated credit rating agencies. These designated credit rating agencies are unregistered agencies belonging to the same group as registered credit rating agencies and fulfill certain requirements. Securities Companies using the credit ratings of agencies on this list are subject to an eased duty of explanation compared to when using those of non-designated unregistered agencies.

The Kyushu Local Finance Bureau issued the statement “Financial Measures in Response to Highly Pathogenic Bird Flu” to relevant financial institutions in Kumamoto Prefecture. The FSA notified the LEI Regulatory Oversight Committee of the Japan Exchange Group / Tokyo Stock Exchange as a candidate for LOU in Japan.
