December 8, 2017:

Publication of the draft “Guidelines for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism” and the draft amendments to the “Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks, etc.” < Summary> The FSA proposed the draft “Guidelines for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism” and the draft amendments to the “Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks, etc.” The FSA deems it significant to strengthen the whole Japanese regime to ensure that its financial system is immune from money laundering and terrorist financing, by collaborating with the private sectors. The proposed Guidelines aim to clarify the basic stance on risk management practices against money laundering and terrorists financing in order to encourage financial institutions to improve their regimes to effectively prevent money laundering and terrorists financing.

December 8, 2017:	Report on measures for the resolution of failed financial institutions < Summary> The FSA submitted to the National Diet a report on measures for the resolution of failed financial institutions (the FRC report) pursuant to the “Act on Emergency Measures for the Revitalization of the Financial Functions.” The report covers developments between April 1 and September 30, 2017.
December 5, 2017:	Authorization of the business restructuring plan for Kansai Mirai Financial Group, Inc. < Summary> The FSA authorized and published the business restructuring plan for Kansai Mirai Financial Group, Inc. based on the “Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act.”

December 8, 2017:

Warnings about entities that are operating money lending businesses without proper registration < Summary> The FSA (Local Finance Bureaus) updated warnings about entities that are operating money lending businesses without proper registration. The warnings include the updated list of entities that misrepresent their registration using fictitious or stolen registration numbers.

December 4, 2017:

Publication of the draft “EDINET Taxonomy for detail tagging of CG and IFRS” < Summary> The FSA proposed the draft “EDINET Taxonomy for detail tagging of CG and IFRS.” The draft proposes the XBRL taxonomy for detailed (additional) tagging of CG (corporate governance) related information and IFRS financial statements prepared by IFRS adopters in Japan. (EDINET taxonomy is the taxonomy to be used for XBRL filing with the EDINET (Electronic Disclosure for Investors’ Network)).
