|April 16, 2021||Publication of the draft amendments to the "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks, etc."
The FSA proposed the draft amendments to the "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks, etc." The proposal mainly intends to provide technical amendments to supervisory focal points based on the relevant and applicable laws and regulations for financial services intermediary business, in light of the probable increase of options for financial institutions to outsource their financial services operations, following the establishment of financial services intermediary business.

|April 22, 2021||Publication of the agenda and handouts of the sixth meeting of the "Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance"
The FSA published the agenda and handouts of the sixth meeting of the "Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance," which was held online on April 22, 2021. The Expert Panel is composed of business, financial, and academic experts with observers of officials from pertinent ministries and agencies. The FSA (Strategy Development Division, Strategy Development and Management Bureau) serves as the secretariat.
|April 20, 2021||Outline of the "Report on the Measures for the Resolution of Failed Financial Institutions" delivered by the Minister of State for Financial Services, ASO Taro, in the Committee on Financial Affairs of the House of Representatives
The Minister of State for Financial Services, ASO Taro, delivered an outline of the "Report on the Measures for the Resolution of Failed Financial Institutions" in the Committee on Financial Affairs of the House of Representatives. The report, addressing the semiannual period extending from April 1 to September 30, 2020, had been submitted to the Diet on December 11, 2020, pursuant to the "Act on Emergency Measures for the Revitalization of the Financial Functions."
|April 19, 2021||Request for financial measures to deal with the outbreak of classical swine fever (CSF, a.k.a. hog cholera) in Tochigi Prefecture (The Kanto Local Finance Bureau)
The Kanto Local Finance Bureau issued the statement titled "Financial Measures in Response to the Report of the Classical Swine Fever (CSF, a.k.a. Hog Cholera)" to the relevant financial institutions in Tochigi Prefecture. The statement requests the financial institutions to cooperate with prefectural authorities and appropriately deal with CSF-affected parties such as pig farms considering their circumstances, such as by attentively responding to the needs of business management consultation and new loans or change of loan terms.
|April 20, 2021||National campaign of "Problem Gambling Awareness Week"
In regard to the national campaign of "Problem Gambling Awareness Week," which is held from May 14 to 20 every year, the FSA has updated its one-stop webpage displaying information on the campaign. The Awareness Week is an annual key initiative in which the FSA and the relevant parties across the nation take various approaches and efforts to further raise public awareness of the adverse impact* of problem gambling and provide relevant information, including the consultative services** for those in need of help for prevention of and recovery from such gambling harm.
* For example, problem gamblers can precipitate financial and other difficulties for themselves and the people around them.
** Advisory services are available at each region’s permanent point of contact for consultations on multi-debt.

The FSA published a series of commentary (tutorial) videos for enhancing corporate disclosure of narrative information (available on "FSA Channel" on YouTube), aiming at the further enhancement of corporate disclosure of narrative information. The video series mainly pertains to the following key narrative information:
