Request for Cooperation upon Providing Self-reliance Support Benefit for Households Suffering Financially from the COVID 19 Pandemic

In order to offer support to households that have been seriously affected by the COVID-19 infection and are unable to use special loans due to such reasons as they have already borrowed the full amount for special measures for emergency petty funds, etc., the national government started to provide self-reliance support benefit for households suffering financially from the COVID 19 pandemic, and the application deadline was extended to the end of March 2022 in response to the prolongation of the impact of the infection.
This support benefit is for assisting needy households at a level close to welfare recipients with their efforts to live independently and help them find a new job or receive welfare. Please properly inform the members of your association regarding the following, in light of the purpose of the support benefit.

Even in cases where early recovery of income is not expected or loan conditions have already been modified, financial institutions should give due consideration in setting collateral or deciding on seizure for the time being so as not to hinder borrowers' shift to independent lives, depending on their respective circumstances.
