Resolution System in the Financial Industry Sector"
(Chairman's Memorandum)

In response to the report of the Financial System Council on June 27, 2000, the Financial Service Dispute Resolution Liaison Group has conducted various activities to improve the alternative dispute resolution in the financial industry sector (financial ADR) with the voluntary participation by consumer groups, the financial services industry and self-regulatory organizations, bar associations, academia and relevant administrative organizations.

The group met four times, starting in March this year, to review its efforts over the past eight years and to discuss issues with regard to the improvement of the financial ADR, and compiled the "Issues Facing Improvement of Alternative Dispute Resolution System in the Financial Industry Sector" (Chairman's Memorandum) on June 24, 2008.

The Chairman's Memorandum reviews the Group's major activities and present problems with financial ADR and puts together the discussions on the roles of financial ADR.
