March 7, 2024 Publication of the finalized amendments to the "Cabinet Office Order on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs," etc. after public consultation
<Summary>
The FSA finalized the amendments to the "Cabinet Office Order on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs," etc. after public consultation. 
In response to a recommendation made in  PDF"Grand Design and Action Plan for a New Form of Capitalism 2023 Revised Version,"open new window* the finalized amendments provide consequential amendments to the said Cabinet Office Order, such as eliminating the requirement to disclose personal information (e.g. names, domiciles or residences, etc.) regarding the acquirer of shares or stock options in securities registration statements filed in the event of an initial public offering, or a (primary) offering or a secondary distribution/offering by way of a third-party allocation/allotment, from the perspective of privacy protection.
The finalized amendments will be enforced on April 1, 2024. (The relevant and applicable disclosure guidelines will take effect on the same date).

※This document, which contains a recommendation to review the treatment of personal information in the securities registration statements, etc. of a company for IPO filings, etc., was published by the Council of New Form of Capitalism Realization, and was approved by the Cabinet on June 13, 2023.

The FSA published the agenda and handouts of the plenary meeting of the Business Accounting Council, which was held on March 12, 2024.
The plenary meeting members engaged in a discussion on the revision, etc. of the quarterly review standards in conjunction with the shift from the said standards to the interim review standards, as well as the recent developments/trends in disclosure, accounting, and auditing.

March 1, 2024 Publication of the agenda and handouts of the 21st meeting of the "Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance"

The FSA published the agenda and handouts of the 21st meeting of the "Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance,"* which was held on March 1, 2024. 
The secretariat of the expert panel (i.e. the FSA) gave a briefing on sustainable finance initiatives, whereupon the expert panel members engaged in a discussion mainly on the assessment to those initiatives and other relevant topics.

*The Expert Panel is composed of business, financial, and academic experts, with observers of officials from pertinent ministries and agencies. The FSA (Strategy Development Division, Strategy Development and Management Bureau) serves as the secretariat.

March 1, 2024 Publication of the agenda and handouts of the ninth meeting of the "Taskforce on Preparation of the Environment for Transition Finance"
<Summary>
The FSA published the agenda and handouts of the ninth meeting of the "Taskforce on Preparation of the Environment for Transition Finance," which was jointly held on March 1, 2024, by the FSA, METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), and the MoE (Ministry of the Environment).
In the ninth meeting, the Taskforce members reported on and discussed recent trends and government initiatives on transition finance, amidst growing interest in transition finance in Japan and abroad.
Furthermore, in response to the revision of the Climate Transition Finance Handbookopen new window published in June 2023 by the ICMA (International Capital Market Association), participants discussed the way forward to revise "Basic Guidelines on Climate Transition Finance."

<Summary>
On February 29, 2024, pursuant to the "Act on Provision of Financial Services and the Development of the Accessible Environment Thereto" (provisional English law title), the FSA granted authorization for the establishment of Japan Financial Literacy and Education Corporation (J-FLEC), in response to an application filed by the initiators of the said corporation, namely, Mr. TAKEI Toshikazu (Chairman, The Central Council for Financial Services Information), Japanese Bankers Association, and Japan Securities Dealers Association.
On the same day, the FSA appointed Mr. ANDO Satoshi and Mr. TAKEUCHI Kiyonobu, who are to be the President and the Auditor of J-FLEC, respectively.
