Minister)

At the outset, I will introduce the JFSA Strategic Priorities for July 2024 - June 2025, which compiles policies and priority issues in financial administration for the one-program-year period as in every year.
This afternoon, the JFSA Strategic Priorities for PY2024 is scheduled to be published. Major points are roughly the following two.
First, in order to contribute to robust and sustainable economic growth, while referring to the Basic Policy on Economic and Fiscal Management and Reform 2024, the FSA will contribute to the improvement of the productivity of the economy as a whole and the enhancement of corporate value through corporate governance reform and promotion of sustainable finance, and will steadily proceed with measures for promoting Japan as a leading asset management center through the promotion of appropriate utilization of the new NISA program and the enhancement of financial and economic education toward the achievement of a virtuous cycle wherein the benefits of enhanced corporate value are returned to people and this leads to further investments and consumption.
Second, the FSA will conduct in-depth monitoring for securing financial institutions' financial health, promoting responses to cyber risks and other risks, including financial crime, providing high-value added support and services based on customer needs, and establishing the sustainability of business models, while keeping an eye on trends of financial and economic developments, in order to stabilize the financial system and secure reliable and high-quality financial functions.
While flexibly responding to future changes in the social and economic environments, the FSA will contribute to sustainable economic growth through finance, and will endeavor to stabilize the financial system and secure reliable and high-quality financial functions, which will serve as the basis for sustainable economic growth. For details, administrative staff will provide explanations later this afternoon.
