Recently, the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) recommended that the FSA impose an administrative monetary penalty on Nomura Securities, Co., Ltd. for its violation of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act on the grounds that it manipulated quotations in government bond futures transactions. How do you accept this case?
- A.
-
On September 25, regarding market manipulation by Nomura Securities, Co., Ltd., the SESC recommended the FSA to issue an administrative monetary penalty payment order to the company under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
Securities companies are originally expected to make efforts to ensure the fairness and transparency of the market. It is very regrettable that a security company in such a position committed misconduct and became subject to a recommendation of the SESC.
Based on the recommendation of the SESC, the FSA will make strict actions in accordance with laws and regulations.
