The FSA has been encouraging financial institutions to make efforts to optimize their business operations of revolving consumer loans. Subsequent to the publication of the survey results on the actual state of banks' revolving consumer loans in August 2018, the FSA conducted follow-up survey with all banks engaging in revolving consumer loan business and published its results.

In response to the disaster caused by Typhoon No.15 in 2019, the FSA’s Counseling Office for Financial Service Users has established a phone line for "Free Telephone Consultation Service for the Victims of the Disaster Caused by Typhoon No. 15 in 2019" mainly to respond to inquiries for the disaster-related points of contacts of the respective financial institutions and inquiries regarding transactions with financial institutions.

September 17, 2019 Request for financial measures to deal with the outbreak of classical swine fever (hog cholera) in Nagano and Saitama Prefectures (The Kanto Local Finance Bureau)open new window

On September 14, 2019, the Kanto Local Finance Bureau issued the statement titled "Financial Measures in Response to the Report of the Classical Swine Fever (Hog Cholera)" to the relevant financial institutions in Nagano and Saitama Prefectures. The statement requests the financial institutions to cooperate with prefectural authorities and appropriately deal with classical swine fever (hog cholera)-affected parties such as pig farms considering their circumstances, such as by attentively responding to the needs of business management consultation and new loans or change of loan terms.
