The FSA published the agenda and handouts of the 150th meeting of the Council on Automobile Liability Insurance, which was held on January 10, 2025.
In the 150th meeting, General Insurance Rating Organization of Japan (GIROJ) reported on the results of the review on insurance premium rates for FY2024, and the General Insurance Association of Japan (GIAJ) reported on the review of expense calculation standards, etc., followed by a discussion among the council members. 
As a result, it was decided that the current compulsory insurance premium rates shall remain unchanged, and the calculation method for applicable expenses will be reviewed based on the direction indicated by the GIAJ.

On January 14, 2025, the FSA issued an order to impose an administrative monetary penalty against a then officer of a subsidiary of ZOZO, Inc. in China, who committed insider trading regarding stocks of ZOZO Inc., in violation of the "Financial Instruments and Exchange Act," by using information received from an employee of ZOZO Inc.

In response to the updated PDF"Principles for Customer-Oriented Business Conduct"open new window(available only in Japanese) published on September 26, 2024, the FSA has revised the reporting format, etc. for inclusion in the list of "financial service providers." In addition, the FSA has also amended the requirements for inclusion in the list.
In this regard, the FSA has announced the new acceptance schedule for the reporting for inclusion in the list (due 5:00 p.m. [JST], July 11, 2025), encouraging financial service providers who wish to be newly or continuously included in the list to check the acceptance schedule and follow it.

The FSA invites organizations to engage in financial education and financial inclusion for children and youth during the GMW period. **
 

* Bank of Japan (BoJ) and Japan Financial Literacy and Education Corporation (J-FLEC) are participating from Japan, in addition to the FSA.

** GMW 2025 will take place overseas from March 17 through 23, 2025, whereas in Japan, it will be held from March 1 to 31, 2025, to accommodate a more flexible schedule.
