Publication of information on the Exposure Draft on the Revision of the Auditing Standards With regard to the going concern assumption (the assumption that a business will continue its operations for the foreseeable future), it is necessary to request auditors to take more appropriate actions and to further enhance the provision of explanations and information on this assumption, while securing consistency with the International Auditing Standards. With regard to fraud auditing, it is necessary to check consistency between the International Auditing Standards and the Japanese Auditing Standards and Standard to Address Fraud Risks and to review whether the Japanese Auditing Standards, etc. adequately require auditors to take appropriate actions in light of the features, etc. of recent fraud auditing cases. Accordingly, the Audit Standard Committee of the Business Accounting Council compiled and published the Exposure Draft on the Revision of the Auditing Standards to broadly seek public opinions.
