Financial Responses to Outbreak of Suspected Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza and Classical Swine Fever(CSF) / African Swine Fever(ASF) among Livestock

　When any livestock suspected to be infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza or livestock infected with CSF / ASF is found, the Financial Services Agency and local finance bureaus request depository institutions to provide meticulous and empathic business consultation services and required loans appropriately to individuals and SMEs that may seriously be impacted thereby.

　We will continuously offer support to relevant individuals and SMEs in close cooperation and collaboration with financial institutions and other related bodies.

〇 Financial Responses to Outbreak of Suspected Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza among Livestock

　When any livestock suspected to be infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza is found, related parties will take disease control measures to prevent the spread of damage but there are fears that poultry farmers and other related individuals and SMEs will seriously be impacted thereby.
　In consideration of such circumstances, depository institutions are expected to make responses appropriately regarding the following in the event that any livestock suspected to be infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza is found as a result of a genetic test.

 

　1. Provide meticulous and empathic business consultation services to farmers and other customers that are subject to the influence of the outbreak of suspected highly pathogenic avian influenza, in collaboration with prefectures and relevant bodies.

　2.  Endeavor to make appropriate responses to requests from customers who are suffering from the impact of the outbreak of suspected highly pathogenic avian influenza seeking new loans necessary for continuing businesses or alteration of conditions of existing loans.

　In consideration of such circumstances, depository institutions are expected to make responses appropriately regarding the following in the event that any livestock infected with CSF / ASF is found as a result of a detailed examination.

 

　1. Provide meticulous and empathic business consultation services to farmers and other customers that are subject to the influence of the outbreak of CSF / ASF, in collaboration with prefectures and relevant bodies.

　2. Endeavor to make appropriate responses to requests from customers who are suffering from the impact of the outbreak of CSF / ASF seeking new loans necessary for continuing businesses or alteration of conditions of existing loans.
