On March 13, 2015, the Kanto Local Finance Bureau took an administrative action against Nihon Sangyo Fukko Kikin K.K. (Fund for Reconstruction of Industry of Japan Co., Ltd.) ordering revocation of registration. This administrative action is based on a recommendation from the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) as a result of its on-site inspection. The SESC found that the company was registered as a Type II Financial Instrument Business Operator by fraudulent means (submitting a false financial statement) and did not have enough human resources to operate Financial Instrument Business appropriately. Therefore, the company falls under Article 52 (1) (v) of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.

The FSA published "Statistics of NISA Accounts (preliminary figures)". As of December 31, 2014, there were 8.24 million NISA accounts in total, and over 2.98 trillion yen (approximately USD 24.5 billion) was invested through the NISA accounts.
