The FSA published “Statistics of NISA and Junior NISA Accounts.” As of June 30, 2017, there were approximately 10.9 million NISA accounts in total, and approximately 11.2 trillion yen (approximately 99.0 billion USD) was invested through the NISA accounts. In addition, 48.0 billion yen (approximately 425 million USD) was invested through 227 thousand Junior NISA accounts, which started from January 2016.

The Tokai Local Finance Bureau took an administrative action against Unlimited. Co., LTD. (the notifier of specially permitted businesses for qualified investors (SPBQII)), ordering the abolition of the entity’s entire business and the improvement of its business operations pursuant to the “Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA).” The said entity failed to file the statutory notifications required under the FIEA to Tokai Local Financial Bureau, where the entity’s business location could not be ascertained.
