Publication of the finalized amendments to the "Cabinet Office Order on Financial Instruments Business" <Summary> The FSA finalized the amendments to the "Cabinet Office Order on Financial Instruments Business." The Order updates the final implementation phases of margin requirements for non-centrally cleared OTC derivatives corresponding to group-based notional amount, in consonance with a one-year extension of the final implementation phase agreed by the BCBS and IOSCO in July 2019. The amended Order was enforced on November 15, 2019.

Publication of the draft amendments to the regulatory notices pertaining to Pillar 1 requirements of capital adequacy <Summary> The FSA proposed the draft amendments to the regulatory notices pertaining to Pillar 1 requirements of capital adequacy. The proposal mainly intends to revise the capital adequacy regulation on double gearing (restriction on banks' investments in other banks), which exempts banks' investments contributing to the effective and ongoing financial intermediary function of regional banks.
