September 27, 2023 Publication of the finalized amendments to the "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Financial Instruments Business Operators, etc." after public consultation
<Summary>
The FSA finalized the amendments to the "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Financial Instruments Business Operators, etc.," in regard to the LEX (Large Exposures) Framework after public consultation.* 
The finalized amendments mainly provide amendments to the Guidelines to clarify the screening/assessment criteria for granting special approval under the LEX Framework.
The finalized amendments will take effect on March 31, 2024.

September 22, 2023 Publication of the finalized amendments to the "regulatory notice pertaining to Pillar 1 requirements of capital adequacy" after public consultation
<Summary>
The FSA finalized the amendments to the "regulatory notice pertaining to Pillar 1 requirements of capital adequacy" after public consultation conducted in May 2023.
The finalized amendments mainly set forth the treatment of securitization products under the Pillar 1 requirements of capital adequacy, based on PDFCriteria for identifying short-term "simple, transparent and comparable" securitisationsopen new window and PDFCapital treatment of securitisations of nonperforming loansopen new window, which were finalized and published by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) in May 2018 and November 2020, respectively.
In response to the finalized amendments to the said regulatory notice, the FSA also finalized the consequential amendments to the "FAQ on Capital Adequacy Regulation" which provide interpretation for the relevant an applicable regulatory notices. 
The finalized amendments will take effect on March 31, 2024.

September 22, 2023 Publication of "Statistics of NISA and Junior NISA Accounts" as of June 30, 2023

The FSA has published "Statistics of NISA (Nippon Individual Savings Account) and Junior NISA Accounts." As of June 30, 2023, there were approximately 19.4 million NISA accounts in total, and approximately 32.8 trillion yen (approximately 222.0 billion USD) was invested through the NISA accounts, among which, 3.6 trillion yen (approximately 25.0 billion USD) was invested through approximately 8.4 million accounts of the Tsumitate NISA (Dollar-Cost Averaging NISA) which has started since January 2018.
