The FSA proposed a cabinet office ordinance to amend the “Ordinance on Terminology, Forms and Preparation Methods of Consolidated Financial Statements,” following the ASBJ’s publication of the Exposure Draft of Practical Solution on Operators’ Accounting for the Concession-based Private Finance Initiative Projects (Exposure Draft of PITF (Practical Issues Task Force) No.48). The proposal is to reflect the revised practical solution published by the ASBJ.

Local Financial Bureaus (including Okinawa General Bureau of the Cabinet Office) have been holding symposiums since FY 2005 to stay updated with expertise and know-how on practices in region-based relationship banking. February 6, 2017: Request for financial measures to deal with the outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Saga Prefecture (Fukuoka Local Finance Bureau)open new window

Fukuoka Local Finance Bureau issued the statement “Financial Measures in Response to the Report of the Subspecies of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)” to relevant financial institutions in Saga Prefecture. The statement requests financial institutions to cooperate with prefectural authorities and appropriately deal with HPAI-affected parties (poultry farms, processors, and trade) considering their circumstances, such as by attentively responding to the needs of business management consultation and new loans or change of loan terms.
February 6, 2017: Joint promotion for “NISA Day (February 13)”open new window

On February 13, 2017, the FSA and relevant financial industry associations promoted investment through NISA for more individual investors to spread basic knowledge about investment and the current schemes of NISA. “February 13” in Japanese sounds similar to the sound of NISA (niːsa), which was the reason why the day was chosen as the day to encourage investment through NISA.
