The FSA finalized the amendments to the “Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Financial Instruments Business Operators.” The amendments clarify supervisory points of attention regarding solicitation for financial instruments transactions using NISA scheme following the introduction of “installment investing NISA,” a system of tax exemption for dividends and capital gains derived from installment investing in the account, from January 2018. The amendments were enforced on October 1, 2017.

The FSA newly added a subpage to its website to provide one-stop access to virtual currency related information published by the FSA. The subpage aggregates and updates virtual currency related information such as the outline of applicable/relevant laws and regulations and the list of virtual currency exchange service providers registered with the FSA. The subpage also provides information for virtual exchange service users, such as matters that require attention for the use of services and the FSA’s contact information for inquiries and consultation, whereas for service providers, it provides information on the registration application format and registration screening procedure.
