January 30, 2015: | Activities of the FSA’s Counseling Office for Financial Services Users in 2014-4Q![]() «Summary» The FSA’s Counseling Office for Financial Services Users offers a counseling service in response to inquiries and comments from financial services users. From May 23, 2014, the counseling office expanded its operation to provide ex-ante counseling services for financial services users for their precaution. In the fourth quarter of 2014 (between October 1 and December 31, 2014), the counseling office received 9,095 inquiries and comments, a decrease from the 10,396 cases in the third quarter (between July 1 and September 30, 2014). Among them, 554 cases were received through the ex-ante consulting services. |

January 30, 2015: | Government of Japan established "Cyber Security Awareness Month"![]() «Summary» The government of Japan established "Cyber Security Awareness Month," which extends from February 1, to March 18, 2015, in order to raise national awareness and understanding of cyber security. The dissemination of cybersecurity is intensively promoted under cooperation among related agencies and organizations, and government agencies. The FSA fully supports the Cyber Security Awareness Month and publishes the posters and banners. |
January 28, 2015: | Publication of a list of specified limited partnerships for investment![]() «Summary» The FSA published a list of specified limited partnerships for investment that are designated as such by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. The listed limited partnerships for investment are eligible for the special provisions of the tax scheme for enterprise revitalization. |
January 27, 2015: | Disciplinary action against a Certified Public Accountant![]() «Summary» The FSA suspended the business of a Certified Public Accountant for 3 months from January 29 to April 28, 2015, pursuant to Article 31 (1) of the "Certified Public Accountants Act." The reason for the suspension was that the certified public accountant was disciplined pursuant to the "Certified Public Tax Accountant Act" and was therefore deemed to have committed a discreditable act prohibited by Article 26 of the "Certified Public Accountant Act". |
