July 7, 2017: | Publication of “Statistics of NISA and Junior NISA Accounts”![]() < Summary> The FSA published “Statistics of NISA and Junior NISA Accounts.” As of March 31, 2017, there were approximately 10.8 million NISA accounts in total, and approximately 10.6 trillion yen (approximately 92.7 billion USD) was invested through the NISA accounts. In addition, 40.6 billion yen (approximately 357 million USD) was invested through 211 thousand Junior NISA accounts, which started from January 2016. |

July 6, 2017: | Request for financial measures to deal with disasters caused by the heavy rain which started on July 5, 2017 (Fukuoka Local Finance Branch Bureau and Kyushu Local Finance Bureau) (1)![]() ![]() < Summary> The Ōita Local Finance Office of the Kyushu Local Finance Bureau with the Bank of Japan’s Ōita branch and the Fukuoka Local Finance Branch Bureau with the Bank of Japan’s Fukuoka branch issued joint statements titled “Financial Measures to deal with disasters caused by the heavy rain which started on July 5, 2017” to the relevant financial institutions. The statements request financial institutions in Ōita Prefecture and Fukuoka Prefecture to appropriately deal with victims of the disaster considering their circumstances, such as by making the repayment of deposits flexible. |
