Publication of the draft "Cabinet Office Order to Amend the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Money Lending Business Act"open new window
<Summary>
The FSA has published the draft "Cabinet Office Order to Amend the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Money Lending Business Act." The proposal mainly intends to reflect in the Ordinance the updates to the "Act for the Partial Revision of the Health Insurance Act for Proper and Efficient Operation of the Medical Insurance System" (Act No. 9 of 2019),* which was promulgated on May 22, 2020.
* This Act is under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

Call for corporate participants in an online "Study Group for Collecting Good Practices on Corporate Disclosure of Narrative Information Based on the Principles for the Disclosure of Narrative Information" (provisional English title)open new window
<Summary>
The FSA has started a call for participants from listed companies in an online "Study Group for Collecting Good Practices on Corporate Disclosure of Narrative Information Based on the Principles for the Disclosure of Narrative Information" (provisional English title). Five online sessions of the Study Group are scheduled to be held in the period from September 16, 2020, until January 13, 2021. The Study Group is to bring investors, analysts and representatives from listed companies together to update the reference casebook* of good practices on the disclosure of narrative information based on the "Principles for the Disclosure of Narrative Information." Online session registrations are now being accepted through the FSA's email address kaiji-benkyokai@fsa.go.jp from August 27 through September 4, 2020. (The number of participants may be limited depending on online communication limitations).
* The reference casebook has been updated by the Study Group in November and December 2019 since the first publication on March 19, 2019. (Updates to the casebook are made as deemed necessary).

The FSA published the results of a survey on key performance indicators (KPIs),* which commonly reflect investment performance across asset management companies in Japan. The survey was outsourced to the Asset Management Research Center of QUICK Corp.
 
*The development and disclosure of key performance indicators (KPIs), which commonly reflect investment performance across asset management companies, will not only incentivize asset management companies to develop high-performing and low-cost investment products (through enhancing transparency of investment performance, thereby encouraging competition among asset management companies), but will also contribute to stable and robust personal asset building through NISA, Tsumitate NISA (Dollar-Cost Averaging NISA), and defined contribution pension plans.

The FSA published the results of the performance survey on open-ended funds in the U.S., Cayman Islands and Luxembourg, which commonly reflect investment performance across asset management companies. The results of survey will contribute to a more in-depth analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and comparative analysis between Japanese and international asset management companies. The survey was outsourced to Morningstar Japan K.K.
