January 19, 2026 Publication of the draft partial amendment of the "Guidelines for Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism." The amendment is for promoting the maintenance and enhancement of financial institutions' internal systems for managing money laundering and other risks, by compiling the recent environmental changes surrounding financial institutions, such as the trend of strengthening measures for preventing illegal use of deposits and savings accounts and the methodology concerning the FATF's 5th Round of Mutual Evaluations. Public comments will be accepted until no later than 5:00 p.m. (JST), February 19, 2026.

January 20, 2026 Publication of information on the public consultation procedures on the draft "Guidelines on Visualization of Human Capital (Revised)" (provisional translation) issued by the Cabinet Secretariat. For revising the "Guidelines on Visualization of Human Capital," deliberations have been held at the Study Group on Visualizing Non-financial Information, in which the FSA and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry participate as observers. The public consultation procedures will be undergone by the Cabinet Secretariat, where the Study Group on Visualizing Non-financial Information is established.
