Event Registration Process

Review Criteria

  1. The organizer must fall under one of the following categories, and both the organizer and related parties must be deemed reliable and trustworthy:
    • National government entities (including independent administrative agencies, special corporations, and authorized corporations)
    • Local governments
    • Public-interest corporations (excluding religious organizations), non-profit organizations, or equivalent entities
    • Media organizations, such as newspapers, radio, and television companies
    • Financial institutions and related businesses
    • Educational institutions
    • Other entities recognized as equivalent to the above
  2. The purpose of the event is recognized as contributing to promote Japan as a leading asset management center and to enhancing the appeal of the Japanese market.
  3. The content of the event contributes to improving the lives or education of the general public and is not intended for commercial profit.
    (Note) While participation fees, admission charges, sponsorship revenue, etc. are permitted, such income must be limited to the minimum necessary to cover the costs of organizing the event, and any profits must not be distributed to members, related parties, investors, or similar stakeholders.
  4. The event must comply with the following requirements and guidelines:
    • 1)Prohibition of excessive promotion of products and services ("products, etc."). The organizer and sponsoring companies must not engage in excessive promotion of specific products or services in a manner that could mislead participants into believing that the Financial Services Agency endorses such products or services.
    • 2)When securing sponsors, they must be carefully screened, with strict measures taken to exclude antisocial forces and unregistered entities.
    • 3)In response to requests from the Financial Services Agency and the secretariat, organizers must sincerely cooperate in submitting budget plans, reporting results, and participating in hearings regarding the application details.
    • 4)The Japan Weeks logo must be used on the event’s related websites, venues, or other materials, or the event must be clearly identified as a Japan Weeks-related event.
    • 5)Appropriate measures must be fully implemented to prevent accidents, ensure public health, and give due consideration to gender and diversity in the planning and execution of the event.
    • 6)Within one month after the event, organizers must respond to a questionnaire conducted by the Financial Services Agency.

The Financial Services Agency may revoke the registration if it determines that the event does not comply with the above registration criteria.
