August 22, 2014: | Publication of draft revisions of the "Cabinet Office Ordinance on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs"![]() «Summary» The FSA proposed draft revisions of the "Cabinet Office Ordinance on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs" based on the Revision of Japan Revitalization Strategy announced by the government in June 2014. The revisions aim to require companies to disclose the number of executives by gender and the ratio of female executives in their securities reports. |

August 20, 2014: | Results of public comments on revisions of the "Cabinet Office Ordinance on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs"![]() «Summary» The FSA published the results of public comments regarding the revisions of the "Cabinet Office Ordinance on Disclosure of Corporate Affairs." The revision includes an eased requirement regarding the financial statements to be included in the Securities Registration Statement at the time of new securities listings. The requirement shall be revised to the disclosure of financial statements of "the past two fiscal years" from the current requirement of disclosing financial statements of "the past five fiscal years." |
August 15, 2014: | Results of public comments on amendments to the "Order for Enforcement of the Insurance Business Act"![]() «Summary» The FSA published the results of public comments on the amendments to the "Order for Enforcement of the Insurance Business Act." The amendments reduce the minimum deposit and simplify the contract documents required for insurance brokers. The original amendments will be stipulated since most of the comments received were about the clarification of the details of amendments. |

The amendments aim to conform to the Basel Core Principles by tightening the large exposure restrictions. |

August 8, 2014: | Publication of a draft amendment to the "Ordinance on Terminology, Forms and Preparation Methods of Quarterly Financial Statements"![]() «Summary» The FSA proposed draft revisions of the "Ordinance on Terminology, Forms and Preparation Methods of Quarterly Financial Statements" based on the revision of accounting standard for quarterly financial statements published on May 16, 2014 by the Accounting Standards Board of Japan. The amendments clarify the contents of notes to the quarterly financial statements when the provisional accounting regarding business combination for the quarter is completed. |
