April 1, 2015: | Publication of updated "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks" and "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Regional Financial Institutions" «Summary» The FSA finalized the amendments to "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks" and "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Regional Financial Institutions." The amendments were made on the provisions regarding other businesses incidental to the banking business, based on the industrial group’s requests for deregulation. No change has been made to the original proposal. |

March 31, 2015: | Publication of the updated FSA regulatory standard pursuant to the provisions of the "Ordinance for Enforcement of the Insurance Business Act" «Summary» The FSA finalized amendments to the FSA regulatory standard pursuant to the provisions of the “Ordinance for Enforcement of the Insurance Business Act.” The amendments provide new calculation methods for the interest rate gap in a liability adequacy test. No change has been made to the proposed draft. |
March 30, 2015: | Publication of the updated FSA regulatory notice designating “The Designated IFRSs" «Summary» The FSA finalized the updated regulatory notice designating "Designated IFRSs” as stipulated in the "Regulation for Terminology, Forms and Preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements." The amendment adds the IFRSs published by the International Accounting Standards Board between July 1 and December 31, 2014, to the list of designated IFRSs that can be used in Japan. No change has been made to the original proposal. |
March 30, 2015: | Publication of the Cabinet Office Ordinance to amend the "Ordinance for Enforcement of the Banking Act" «Summary» The FSA finalized the Cabinet Office Ordinance to amend the "Ordinance for Enforcement of the Banking Act." The amendments reflect the changes in the "Cabinet Office Ordinance on Terminology, Forms, and Preparation Methods of Financial Statements" and will be enforced from April 1, 2015 (a part of provisions will be enforced from March 30, 2015). No change has been made to the proposed draft. |
March 26, 2015: | Publication of the updated "Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks" and "Inspection Manuals" regarding the regulations on liquidity coverage ratio «Summary» The FSA finalized amendments to the “Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Major Banks” and “Inspection Manuals” regarding the regulations on the liquidity coverage ratio. From the end of March 2015, the regulations on the liquidity coverage ratio for internationally active banks are implemented. |
