FSA Institute’s Past Activities

(July 2014-June 2015)

The FSA Institute’s primary activities in business year 2014 (July 2014-June 2015) were as follows.

  • Compiling the results of research conducted by special research fellows of the FSA Institute into eleven research papers, and publishing them as the FSA Institute’s Discussion Papers.
  • Holding two symposiums. In October 2014, the FSA Institute held a symposium on the topic of “Financial Activity of Households and SME Financing in the Regional Economy” jointly with the Institute of Social and Economic Research of Osaka University, the Institute of Economic Research of Kyoto University, the Graduate School of Business Administration, Kobe University, and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). In January 2015, the FSA Institute hosted “ADBI-Japan-OECD High-level Global Symposium: Promoting Better Lifetime Planning through Financial Education” jointly with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), ADBI, and the Bank of Japan. Each symposium was attended by more than 100 participants from academia, the financial sector, and the government sector.
  • The FSA Institute’s Study Group on Corporate Financing and Governance had a meeting to exchange information and discuss issues related to corporate financing in July 2014.
  • The FSA Institute provided 78 training courses to FSA personnel, with a focus on providing expert training on the financial system and practices.
